Inspired by the life of Joanna Coles, chief content officer of Hearst Magazines, "The Bold Type" follows a group of spirited, modern young women who work at "Scarlet," a global women's magazine headed by the high-powered editor-in-chief, Jacqueline (Melora Hardin). Jane (Katie Stevens) has recently been promoted to her dream job as a writer, Kat (Aisha Dee) is the newly appointed social media director, and Sutton (Meghann Fahy) is still toiling away as an assistant.
